OVERWEIGHT AND OBESITY

OBESITY AND OVERWEIGHT
Globally OBESITY AND OVERWEIGHT have become a menacing HEALTH PROBLEM.
There are various estimates of the problem in various parts of the world, but on a global scale the estimate is about fifty to sixty per cent of the population.
OBESITY and OVERWEIGHT affect our mobility and has potentially dire consequences in respect of our general health. They can lead to discomfort in the early phases and have the potential to cause weight related diseases not to mention the potential to kill their subjects. These observations are common sense.
IF YOU ARE NOT CONVINCED PLEASE FOR THE SAKE OF YOUR HEALTH AND LONGEVITY CONSULT YOUR DOCTOR.
About one year ago, I consulted my doctor and I was diagnosed as being overweight. I immediately cut down on my calorie intake and increased my physical activity. To date - 9th NOVEMBER 2007, I have lost 10 kilograms (22 pounds) and I feel much better. My mobility and physical endurance has increased significantly. My appearance has improved too.
The calculation to establish overweight or obesity is obtained by applying the BODY MASS INDEX. It works as follows:
Ascertain your weight in kilograms and divide that weight by the square of your height in metres. A result of 25 to 30 is considered to be overweiht and a result of
30 or higher is considered to be obese. If you have a problem walking at a pace that a fit person can maintain you are probably overweight. The obese person has difficulty walking a 100 metres at the same pace as a normal person who has a reasonable distribution of weight in relation to his or her height. The huffers and puffers need to seriously consider a calorie reducing diet and to immediately increase their physical activity to rectify their potentially dangerous situation. OBESITY causes ill health, it is a health hazard and has the potential to shorten your lifespan.
PLEASE MY BROTHERS AND SISTERS
IF YOU ARE OVERWEIGHT OR OBESE
CONSULT YOUR DOCTOR TOMORROW
AND FOLLOW HIS OR HER ADVICE.
GO WELL,
SIDNEY WILLIAMS
